Man Wounded In West Loop Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) - A man leaving a party on the West Side was shot early Saturday in the Garfield Park neighborhood.
The man was walking in the 4700 block of West Erie Street when he was shot about 1:10 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
The 22-year-old victim was leaving a party at a residence on Cicero near Erie when an gunman he does not know opened fire, and struck him in the right calf, a Harrison District police lieutenant said. The victim told police he is in a gang.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was in "stable" condition.
The man shot told police he heard shots and felt pain. A description of the shooter was not immediately available.
The gunman has not been arrested.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
