Man Wounded In South Side Police Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) - A male was wounded Wednesday night after Chicago Police exchanged fire with at least one person Wednesday night in the Englewood neighborhood.

Shots were fired at and by Chicago Police officers about 8 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 69th Street about 8 p.m., said police News Affairs Officer Phillip Armstrong.

No officers were injured, Armstrong said.

A male was shot and taken in an unidentified condition to an unidentified hospital, police said.

A spokesperson from the Independent Police Review Authority, which investigates all police-involved shootings, could not immediately comment.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
