Man, Woman Killed In Near West Side Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and woman were gunned down in a car outside the woman's home on the Near West Side Saturday.
Nicole Robinson, 37, of 2738 W. Polk St., and Dennis Praten, 32, of 4256 W. Maypole Ave., were both fatally shot while in a vehicle at 2043 W. Polk St., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
An assailant opened fire into a parked 4-door Chevrolet about 1:45 a.m. Saturday, police said. Officers riding in a police wagon were already in the area when they heard the shots, and responded to the Polk Street address, finding the two victims inside the car.
Praten was dead on the scene. Robinson was pronounced dead at 2:14 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office. They both suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to police and the medical examiner's office.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
