Man Whose Body Was Found Decomposed Had Been Shot
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Authorities say a man whose body was found decomposed in his Englewood neighborhood home had been shot.
John Rich Sr., 66, was found dead and decomposed in his bedroom in the 1000 block of West 59th Street, around 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office and police News Affairs.
He had been shot, though it was not immediately clear how long ago he died, according to the medical examiner's office.
Police went to Rich's home after a relative requested they do a well-being check, according to police News Affairs.
Police listed Rich's death as non-criminal early Tuesday.
