Man Wanted For Stabbing His Brothers-In-Law
OAK LAWN (STMW) -- Police in south suburban Oak Lawn are looking for a man who they say stabbed two of his brothers-in-law late Saturday. The two victims, who are brothers, were hospitalized in serious condition Sunday.
At about 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Oak Lawn police responded to a 911 call of multiple people fighting in a parking lot just east of the Advocate Christ Medical Center Emergency Department, at 94th and Kilbourn in the south suburb.
Officers followed a blood trail to the emergency department where they learned two brothers were being treated for knife wounds, a release form police said. The first of the two, a 30-year-old from Burbank, was stabbed in the head and torso. The other victim, a 20-year-old from Chicago Ridge, was stabbed in the face and back. Both remained hospitalized Sunday at Christ Hospital in serious condition.
Police learned that the incident started earlier at a family member's home in Chicago Ridge. The suspect followed both brothers to the hospital parking lot, where they had gone to check on a relative unrelated to this event.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Yasin Kamal, who is the brother-in-law of the two who were stabbed, allegedly attacked both brothers in the parking lot, police said. He then fled in a 1996 red Mercedes Benz, with an Illinois license plate of H711555.
Kamal lives on West 103rd Street in Chicago Ridge, police said. Anyone who may have information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Oak Lawn Police at (708) 422-8292.
Kamal is considered armed and dangerous and if anyone sees him or the car they should call 911.
