Man Uninjured In Shooting Outside Oak Lawn Chuck E Cheese's
OAK LAWN (STMW) -- A man sitting in a car in the parking lot of an Oak Lawn Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant emerged unscathed after two gunmen approached the vehicle and opened fire Saturday night, according to police.
Authorities say the 20-year-old man, who has a history with gangs, was sitting in the car about 8:32 p.m. when the two gunmen approached and fired multiple shots into the car.
The man was not injured in the shooting, police said.
Police believe the man was purposefully targeted by the gunmen as he sat in the lot in the 4000 block of 95th Street, said Commander Mel Clark of the Oak Lawn police.
No one was in custody early Sunday as Oak Lawn police investigated. Detectives are rounding up footage from nearby surveillance cameras, Clark said.
