Man Tries To Lure Girl, 9, Into SUV With Promise Of Candy: Police
(CBS) – A 9-year-old girl told police a stranger tried to lure her inside an SUV with the promise of candy at a Northwest Side park earlier this week.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, as the girl was waiting for her mother in the parking lot at Shabbona Park, 6935 W. Addison St., police said.
A man approached her in a red or maroon SUV and told her, "I have candy. If you want some, get in," according to a Chicago Police Department community alert issued Friday.
The victim fled to the field house, where police were called.
Police urge children not to approach or talk to strangers.
