Man Tries To Lure Boy Into Car Near Lincoln And California
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are looking for a man and woman who tried to lure a 10-year-old boy into a car near Lincoln and California avenues earlier this month.
On Thursday, Sept. 15, at 6:10 p.m., the 10-year-old boy was walking along the 5700 block of North California Avenue, when a black Toyota Camry with tinted side windows pulled up.
A woman was driving the car, and a man was in the front passenger seat. The man asked to pick the boy up, but the boy ran away, police said.
The man is described as Hispanic and between the ages of 20 and 30, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap, with red lettering and a red bill worn backward. The woman is only described as Hispanic and between the ages of 20 and 25.
Located in the Arcadia Terrace neighborhood, the block of California Avenue is less steps from both Mather High School and St. Hilary Catholic elementary school.
Police advise people to avoid walking alone and stay in well-lit areas, and call 911 to report anything suspicious. Police also advise avoiding talking on a cell phone while walking.
Anyone with information is asked to call Belmont Area police detectives at (312) 744-8200.
