Man Tries To Kidnap Girl, 14, In Edison Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Advice about watching out for Mr. Stranger-Danger is as good today as it was decades ago, as there was an attempted kidnapping Tuesday on the city's Far Northwest Side.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say a 14-year-old girl was walking on Harlem Avenue near Fitch Avenue – just south of Touhy Avenue in the Edison Park neighborhood – when a strange man approached her and grabbed her arm.

The teenager told police the man asked her to go with him, but she broke free and ran from him.
All this happened in the middle of the day, around 1:30 p.m.
Police have put out a generic description of the suspect. He is described as white man with a medium complexion, between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 120 and 150 pounds.
He has brown hair, though its length is not known, and he was wearing a colored T-shirt with text on it and jeans, the Sun-Times Media Wire reports.
