Babich, of Crestwood, was ordered held on $10,000 bond in November, accused of buying counterfeit tickets for the Nov. 14 Bears-Minnesota Vikings game at Soldier Field, and then turning around and selling them to another man.
Police say the second victim bought the tickets online from Babich for $250 each. The men met near Soldier Field where the victim picked up the tickets, but then later learned they were counterfeit when he tried to enter the stadium.
Police say the victim called Babich back and told him he wanted to buy more tickets. They met again at the same location, where police arrested Babich and recovered two more phony tickets.
While at the Central District police station for processing, Babich told police he'd purchased the tickets for $1,050 at State and 35th streets, then learned they were fake when comparing them to tickets his boss had.
He told police he wanted his money back so he put them on Craigslist, a police report said at the time.
