Man, Teenager Charged In Kenwood Murder, Robbery
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged in connection with the robbery and fatal shooting of a man sitting in a vehicle with his girlfriend in the South Side Kenwood neighborhood early Saturday.
Michael Tucker, 20, of the 3800 block of East Rita Drive in Richton Park, and Kiontae A. Mack, 17, of 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue, were arrested and charged with one count of first degree murder and two counts of armed robbery, according to a release from police News Affairs.
The man was sitting in a vehicle with his girlfriend about 2:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of South Drexel Boulevard when two males walked up with a handgun and announced a robbery, police said.
When the man attempted to fight, one of the males shot him multiple times, police said.
Stephin Wilkins, 20s, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:10 a.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Tucker is scheduled to appear Monday in bond court at 2600 S. California Ave.
