Man Takes Swing At Metra Conductor, Faces Battery Charges
CHICAGO (WBBM) — A Chicago man faces battery charges after he was involved in a scuffle with a Metra train conductor during yesterday's evening rush hour.
The man was a passenger on the Metra Electric Line, now identified as 30-year-old Kenneth Pollard.
It was just after 5 p.m., Metra says, when a conductor told him to lower his voice as he talked on a cell phone.

The conductor made several such requests, according to Metra, to no avail.
Pollard is alleged to have followed the conductor onto the platform at the 51st Street station in Hyde Park and took a swing at him.
He missed, Metra says.
The conductor managed to duck, but did hurt his leg as he struggled with Pollard.
Two off-duty Chicago police officers on the train stepped in and held Pollard until on-duty police arrived.
Pollard is facing misdemeanor charges.
