Man Stabbed While Intervening In Fight
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man trying to break up a fight was reported in serious condition after being stabbed in a home in the Englewood neighborhood.
At 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the head and arm in a home in the 6100 block of South Morgan Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.
The man had been drinking with his girlfriend, who is also his child's mother, and a group of her friends when the woman and an unidentified friend got into a fight, according to Gaines.
The man was stabbed when he tried to intervene in the fight, Gaines said.
The man was taken in serious, but stable, condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Gaines said.
The group of friends fled the scene and no one was in custody as of 5:00 a.m. Thursday, according to Gaines.
