Man Stabbed To Death In Little Village

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man found stabbed to death in the street in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood early Saturday has been identified.
About 2:10 a.m. Saturday the victim was found fatally stabbed in the street on the 4200 block of West 26th Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office the man was found at 2608 S. Kedvale Ave.
He has been identified as Gumaro Chavez, 28, of 4612 S. Ashland Ave., according to the medical examiner's office.
An autopsy Saturday determined he died of multiple blunt force injuries and stab wounds from to an assault and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
No one is in custody and Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
