Man Stabbed During Robbery On Fullerton Avenue
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was stabbed during a robbery early Thursday on Fullerton Avenue, on the western edge of the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The attack happened around 12:40 a.m. in the 1500 block of West Fullerton Avenue, police said. The man was stabbed as someone tried to rob him, according to police.
The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was reported in good condition, police said.
Police dispatch reports indicated that the man was smashed over the head with a bottle and suffered a laceration to his back.
The site of the attack is about half a mile west of the DePaul University campus.
A bustling business strip is located on the block where the incident happened, anchored by Facets Multimedia at 1517 W. Fullerton Ave. – which would have been closed at the time – and the bar McDunna's at 1505 W. Fullerton Ave. – which presumably would have been open.
The victim was listed in good condition early Thursday.
