Man Slashed With Knife After Attacking Pair On Riverwalk
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man who tried to attack two people near the Chicago Riverwalk got more than he bargained for Monday night, when one of his targets fended off his attack by slashing him with a knife.
The two were near the entrance of the riverwalk, near 2 E. Wacker Dr., when the 31-year-old man verbally confronted them about 10:45 p.m., police said
Words quickly turned to action when the 31-year-old attacked, only to be fended off when one of the two pulled out a knife and cut his attacker.
The wounded man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with cuts to his chest and face, police said. He was listed in good condition, but refused to cooperate with investigators.
The two people who fended off his attack were initially taken into custody. But police said they will not likely be charged, because detectives not believe the two instigated the attack.
