Man Slain In Belmont Cragin While Stopped At Red Light
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A driver was shot and killed early Friday, when someone in another car pulled up alongside him at a red light, and opened fire.
CBS 2's Susanna Song reports the victim, who was in his 20s, was driving a black Honda Accord on Fullerton Avenue, with a family member in the passenger's seat, when he stopped at a red light at Central Avenue around 4 a.m.
Another car pulled up next to them, and someone inside opened fire. The victim was hit multiple times.
The suspect or suspects drove off.
Police said the victim's relative initially was too distraught to talk to officers, but detectives were hoping he can explain what led to the shooting.
The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died.
