Man Shot While Riding Bike In Greater Grand Crossing
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was taken to the hospital early Thursday after he was shot while riding a bike in the South Side Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
The 19-year-old man was riding near the 6900 block of South Michigan Avenue about 12:14 a.m. when several men on foot pulled out guns and shot at him, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
At least one bullet struck the 19-year-old in the back, police said.
The man was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was listed in "stable" condition, police said.
No one was in custody while Area South detectives investigated.
