Man Wounded In Late Night Shooting On Dan Ryan
CHICAGO (CBS) -- It has been a very busy holiday weekend for Chicago Police so far with 20 shootings.
One of those shooting impacted traffic on the Dan Ryan expressway.
CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli is at Stroger Hospital, where the victim of the latest expressway shooting is now being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was shot Saturday around 10:35 p.m. while sitting passenger in a vehicle traveling north on I-90/94 near 47th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
Shortly after it happened, investigators shut down all inbound local lanes between 47th and Pershing for more than two hours.
Officers walked the expressway with flashlights in hand looking for bullet casings or other pieces of evidence that might lead them to the shooter.
The victim was a passenger in the vehicle and was initially driven to St. Bernard Hospital before being transferred to Stroger, where his condition stabilized.
The man, whose exact age in unknown, is among three dead and seventeen wounded so far this President's Day holiday weekend.

Also among the wounded, this weekend is a 13-year-old boy who was critically wounded by a gunshot to his chest. The shooting happened while he was walking with another teen in the Austin neighborhood.
