Man Shot To Death In Back Of The Yards
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot to death in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Wednesday night.
Anthony Rivers, 30, was in a vehicle in the 5400 block of South Bishop Street about 10:15 p.m. when someone approached the car and shot into the vehicle, striking his back, the back of his head and his armpit, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
He then got out of the car and collapsed in an alley behind the scene, where officers later found him, police said.
Rivers, of the 800 block of East 87th Street, was transported to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, and was pronounced dead there at 11:20 p.m., authorities said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
