Man Shot To Death After Responding To Craigslist Ad
WOODSTOCK, Ill. (STMW) -- A man and a woman from Woodstock were charged in connection with the murder of a man who solicited prostitution services from a Craigslist ad Saturday, the McHenry County Sheriff's office announced Sunday.
The victim, 48-year-old Kurt Milliman, solicited prostitution services from a Craigslist advertisement but subsequently an altercation took place and the victim was shot with a handgun, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
Timothy Smith, 26, was charged with murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, pandering, obstructing justice and pimping while Kimberly A. Smith, 28, was charged with two counts of obstructing justice, disorderly conduct and prostitution, according to the release.Both reside in the 4300 block of Doty Road.
The incident unfolded Saturday at 10:59 p.m., when members of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office responded to the 4300 Block of Doty Road in unincorporated Woodstock, for an unwanted subject, according to the release.
Upon arrival, deputies met with Timothy and Kimberly Smith and Milliman of Prairie Grove, was discovered inside the residence with a gunshot wounds, according to the release.
Milliman was transported to Centegra Woodstock Memorial Hospital by Woodstock Fire Rescue, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the release.
An autopsy will be conducted by the McHenry County Coroner's Office.
Investigators obtained evidence and conducted interviews, which led to the arrest of Timothy and Kimberly. The Sheriff's office worked in conjunction with the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office, which approved the charges.
