CHICAGO (CBS) - Police in the Uptown neighborhood are searching for suspects in an overnight shooting.
Around 1:15 a.m. Friday, a 28-year-old man was standing on the corner in the 5000 block of North Sheridan Road when a green van rolled by and an assailant opened fire, striking the man in the foot, police said.
Quoting witnesses, the Uptown Update blog said the van was pulled over about half a block east at 939 W. Argyle St. Three or four assailants exited the van and fled on foot, leaving the van abandoned.
A neighbor near Broadway and Foster Avenue was standing outside at the time, and reported on Uptown Update that he heard four quick shots, followed by sirens.
The victim was taken in stable condition to Weiss Memorial Hospital.
