Man Shot, Killed On Bridgeport Street
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are looking for suspects Tuesday morning, after a man was found shot to death in the Bridgeport neighborhood.
The 33-year-old man was shot in the back in the 3100 block of South Green Street, half a block west of Halsted Street, police said. He was discovered around 10:15 p.m.
The victim was standing on the street when a black minivan headed east on 31st Street from Poplar Avenue stopped, and an assailant with a handgun got out and started shooting, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The man was later identified as Jeremy Colanco, of an unidentified home address -- was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The Chicago Tribune reported he was a gang member out on parole, and his real last name was "Colanto," but "Colanco" was an alias that he used.
As of Tuesday morning, no one was in custody.
