Man Shot, Killed In Gary
GARY, Ind. (STMW) -- A man shot several times outside his home Wednesday night died a short time later at the emergency room.
Perry Johnson, 39, of the 200 block of Cleveland Street, was pronounced dead at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus at 10:03 p.m., a news release from the Lake County coroner states.
Patrolmen Donald Briggs, Kevin Campbell and Jeston Walker arrived in the area about 8:40 p.m. after learning of a gunshot victim outside. They found Johnson lying on the ground. He was rushed to the hospital.
Detective Cpl. James Nielsen and Lorenzo Davis are investigating the homicide, the 35th of the year in the city. Anyone with information can call Nielsen at 881-4754 or Davis at 881-4738.
