Man Shot In Head In Shootout With Maywood Cops
MAYWOOD, Ill. (WBBM/CBS) -- A Maywood man is hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head after allegedly getting into a shootout with police early this morning.
Police were called to a home in the 2000 block of South 11th Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. by a woman saying her husband had pistol-whipped her, according Maywood Chief Tim Curry.

He says 40-year-old Marion Brown allegedly fired a shot at officers, hitting one in the officer's bullet-resistant vest. The officers returned fire.
Curry says police tried to negotiate with Brown and found him unresponsive with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Brown, the victim and three police officers were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Curry says they don't know Brown's condition, nor whether his wound was self-inflicted or from police.
Curry says two officers and a police supervisor were evaluated. He says all are physically fine. The officers were released and the supervisor was still there - a little shaken up.
Children in the home were removed and were not injured, according to police.
Curry says the department has responded to a call from the home at least once so far this year.
