Man Shot In Head In Humboldt Park

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was shot in the head Tuesday morning while sitting in a car in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The 23-year-old man was sitting in the front passenger seat of a car stopped at a red light near North Sacramento Boulevard and West Grand Avenue when he was shot in the head about 5:55 a.m., police said.

A gold mini van approached the car and somebody inside pointed a .45-caliber handgun at the man and fired two or three times, police said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. His condition was not immediately available.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody Tuesday night.
