Man Shot In Groin, Woman Shot In Leg In Garfield Park
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and woman were shot early Sunday in a home in the West Side Garfield Park neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 1:50 a.m. in the 500 block of North Avers Avenue when a group of males fired shots at the two, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
Initial reports received by police indicated that there was a private party at that location and some males were attempting to get into the party, police said.
The 18-year-old woman was struck in the leg and taken in good condition to Norwegian-American Hospital, and the 41-year-old man was shot in the groin and taken in "stable" condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Mirabelli said.
No one is in custody Sunday morning and Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
