Man Shot Dead On The West Side
CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was shot in the head in the Lawndale neighborhood Monday night on the West Side.
The 27-year-old man -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Kiwian Ashford -- was shot in the head about 6:35 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Kedzie Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala, citing preliminary information.
Ashford, of an unidentified home address, was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, the medical examiner's office said.
The shooting happened just blocks from the Ogden District police station.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, the medical examiner's office said.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
