Man Shot Dead In South Shore; Shots Fired Near West Side Police Station
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A shooting overnight in the South Shore neighborhood left a man dead, and shots were also heard down the street from a police station on the city's West Side.
In the South Shore shooting, a 26-year-old man was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, including in his back, at 2:09 a.m. at 6801 S. Crandon Ave., police said.
Witnesses told police they heard an argument then saw a silver car flee northbound from the area at the time of the shooting, police said.
The victim -- Randall Cummins of 7600 block of South Colfax Avenue -- was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one was in custody early Friday.

In a separate earlier incident, at least one person is being held after shots rang out at Ogden and Sawyer avenues, just a couple of blocks from the Ogden District police station at 3315 W. Ogden Ave.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired and people running from that location, police said.
Police found two people nearby with guns, and at least one male was taken into custody, police said. A responding officer suffered a minor injury and was treated at a local hospital.
