Man Shot Dead In Little Village
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A young man is dead after being beaten and shot in the Little Village neighborhood early Saturday on the Southwest Side.
The male was shot about 3:35 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Albany Avenue and later died from his injuries, police said.
Sources said a group of people got out of a mini van and a possible gang fight ensued, during which time the man, believed to be in his late-teens or early-20s, was beaten and shot.
Police added the attack might have been a robbery.
A Saturday autopsy determined the man, identified as Raymond Jerz, Jr., died from multiple gunshot wounds and the death was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody.
