Man Shot And Killed Sitting In Car In Humboldt Park
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man is dead after he was shot when sitting inside a vehicle in the Humboldt Park community early Saturday on the West Side.
The 23-year-old man – identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as George Dunn – was shot about 2 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Spaulding Avenue, police said.
He was sitting inside a vehicle when a green car pulled up alongside and somebody inside opened fire, police said.
Somebody then drove the man to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where an ambulance took him to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
He was pronounced dead at 11:46 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office, who said he suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen area.
Authorities said the shooting is possibly gang-related.
Area North detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody Saturday night.
