Man Shot And Killed In Morgan Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 51-year-old man was shot and killed early Thursday in the Morgan Park neighborhood, a block away from where a 7-year-old boy was shot a few months ago.
The man was found lying on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of West 108th Place around 1:20 a.m., according to police. He had been shot multiple times, and was dead at the scene, police said.
On May 20, 7-year-old Elijah Dace was shot in the shoulder while walking home from school. He was recovering after surgery on his wound.
Published reports state the man who was shot Thursday is Elijah's father.
Police have said Elijah was not the intended target of the May shooting. Two teens have been arrested and charged with shooting Elijah.
No one was in custody for the shooting of the 51-year-old.
