Man Shot And Killed In Edgewater
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the North Side Edgewater neighborhood Thursday afternoon, police said.
About 4:45 p.m., a male entered a business in the 5900 block of North Ridge Avenue, pulled out a handgun, and fired several shots, police said.
Devone Matthews, of the 6100 block of North Damen Avenue, was shot in the back and taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
A police source said he was a documented gang member.
