Man Sexually Assaults Woman In Southwest Side Gangway

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have issued a community alert in the Southwest Side's Brighton Park neighborhood, as they search for a man who sexually assaulted a woman over the weekend.
As CBS 2's Susanna Song reports, police say the assault happened between 5:30 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. Sunday in the 4600 block of South Christiana Avenue.
Police say a man grabbed the victim from behind and pushed her into a gangway. The attacker then pushed the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
Police say the assailant then fled the scene.
The community alert described the offender as a Hispanic man between the ages of 28 and 36, standing 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. He was clean-shaven and hand black hair worn in a ponytail, and had on a dark outer garment, blue jeans and black shoes during the attack.
Police are warning women in the area to use common sense, such as a avoiding secluded areas when it is dark out, remain in well-lit areas, and walk in groups whenever possible,
