Man Sentenced In Condom-Hurling Case
WHEATON, Ill. (STMW) - A man who pelted a North Central College security officer's vehicle with condoms filled with what appeared to be human vomit has been sentenced for that crime.
Tyler J. Wilfley, 19, of downstate Downs, pleaded guilty in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton to a misdemeanor charge of battery stemming from the incident last spring. A companion charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed in exchange for the plea, according to court records.
Judge Brian J. Diamond on Nov. 4 ordered Wilfley to serve 10 days in the DuPage County Sheriff's Work Alternative Program, records showed. He also placed Wilfley on a year of court supervision and assessed a total of $440 in fines, fees and court costs.
Naperville police were sent shortly before 2 a.m. May 28 to the 300 block of East Chicago Avenue, where they met with the security officer. The officer told police he had been called there by a female student who asked to be escorted to another part of the campus.
The officer said he drove to the area, where his vehicle was struck by at least one condom filled with an unidentified liquid. A police spokesman in June said the liquid had a "foul odor" about it and might have been vomit.
Police located the co-ed, who told them Wilfley had persuaded her to make the call. Wilfley was later identified as the man who had hurled the condoms.
