GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (STMW) -- A man who had his head and face covered by a hat and scarf robbed a west suburban hair salon at gunpoint Thursday morning.
No one was hurt in the robbery and police say the suspect got away with just a small amount of cash.
About 9:20 a.m., he entered the Great Clips at 692 Roosevelt Rd. in Glen Ellyn, showed a handgun, and demanded money from the employees, a release from Glen Ellyn police said.
The man got a "small amount of cash," police said, and left the store walking east on Roosevelt.
He was described as about 35 years old with light skin (race undetermined), 5-foot-10 and 230 pounds, according to the release. He was wearing dark tan pants with a black jacket, and carrying a black backpack. He also wore a hat and scarf which covered much of his face.
Anyone with information should call Glen Ellyn police at (630) 469-1187.
