Man Robs Fourth Loop Bank Branch
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man who robbed a Loop bank branch robbed Friday morning is suspected of three other downtown bank robberies over the past month, according to the FBI.
His latest target was the Fifth Third Bank branch at 1 S. Dearborn, which was robbed shortly before 10 a.m., police said.
The bank robber was described as a black man, about 40 years old, 5-feet, 11-inches tall, wearing black jeans, a black skull cap, a hooded jacket with white sleeves that says "Chicago" in white, glasses, and a "scruffy beard," according to the FBI and police.
According to the FBI this man is also believed to have robbed the Citibank branch at 222 W. Adams on Oct. 10, the Citibank branch at 69 W. Washington on Oct. 17, and the PNC Bank branch at 55 W. Monroe on Oct. 23.
There have been at least 166 bank robberies in the Chicago area this year, according to the FBI. Last year there were 115 bank robberies in the metropolitan area.
