Man Posing As A Woman To Lure Children Gets Prison Time
CHICAGO (AP) -- A Chicago man convicted of luring children for sex by posing as a woman on social media was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
In 2017, Bryan Osborne pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to sex trafficking of a minor by force, fraud or coercion.
Federal prosecutors alleged the 30-year-old Osborne posed as a woman named "Lonyae Jackson" on Facebook and sent messages to more than 2,000 people, mostly minors. He allegedly enticed them to appear in sexually explicit videos by promising them money.
Prosecutors say as part of the scheme, Osborne told the minors they would have to have sex with a producer named "Trey" to make sure they were suitable for filming.
In pleading guilty, Osborne admitted to having sex with 14 minors, and giving them reasons afterward why they couldn't be paid.
In addition to serving his sentence, Osborne must pay the victims $142,481 in restitution.
