Man Named 'Outlaw' Charged In Deadly Park Manor Shooting
(STMW) --A Kenwood man charged with murder for a fatal shooting last month in the South Side Park Manor neighborhood has been ordered held without bond.
Juan Simpson, 37, was standing in the 100 block of East 69th Street at 8:30 p.m. April 2 when 25-year-old Romell V. Outlaw approached and fired shots, striking him in the back, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Simpson, who lived on the 6900 block of South Indiana, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:08 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
According to Simpson's Facebook page, he attended Corliss High School and studied at DeVry University.
Outlaw, of the 4500 block of South Drexel, was arrested about 11:10 a.m. Friday in the same block, police said. He is charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and two felony counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
On Saturday, Outlaw was ordered held without bond, according to the Cook County sheriff's office. He is next scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
