Search Suspended After Canoe Tips Over In Retention Pond

LEMONT, Ill. (CBS) -- Officials have suspended their search of a retention pond in unincorporated DuPage County near Lemont, after a boater went missing early Tuesday.
Authorities say two people were out in a canoe in a small pond near Woodward Avenue and South Frontage Road in an unincorporated area of DuPage County near Lemont when it capsized around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
One of the two males made it safely back to shore, but the other, Jeremy Asbell, 25, from Bolingbrook, was still missing as of 3 p.m., when the LeMont Fire Department suspended its search without finding a body.
Divers will return to the pond Wednesday morning with a cadaver dog to try to pinpoint a location to search. DuPage County Sheriff's officers were assisting in the search.

The relatively small retention pond is choked with vegetation and plant life, and is difficult to navigate, reports CBS 2's Kris Habermehl.
Lemont Fire Department officials said they did not know if alcohol was a factor in the incident.
