Man Killed In Suburban Landfill Accident
ZION, Ill. (STMW) - A man was killed in a Tuesday afternoon landfill accident in north suburban Zion.
The Zion Fire Department responded about 2 p.m. to a man pinned at the Veolia landfill at 701 Green Bay Rd. in Zion. When firefighters arrived, he was no longer pinned and immediately took him to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Lake County Coroner Dr. Richard Keller said at 5 p.m. that a man had died of injuries suffered at the landfill, but no further information was available from him or the landfill operator.
