Man Killed In South Shore Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died after he was shot near his home in the South Shore neighborhood Monday morning.
He was shot about 9 a.m. in the 7800 block of South Oglesby Avenue, when a male shooter emerged from and alley and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The 30-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds in the head and neck, according to Fire Media Affairs.
Richard Pierce, who lived at a different address in the 7800 block of South Oglesby Avenue, was taken to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later, police said.
Area South detectives are investigating, but no one is in custody late Monday.
