Man Killed In South Shore Drive-By Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was killed Tuesday morning in a drive-by shooting in the South Shore neighborhood.
A 34-year-old man was in a parking lot near East 74th Street and South Colfax Avenue with another person at 9:38 a.m. when a light-colored SUV drove by and a person inside fired shots, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The victim was shot in the back and left leg, and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died, Mirabelli said.
The victim had gang affiliations, Mirabelli said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the death, but could not immediately provide further details.
