Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Joe Stangl says Lewis' Chevrolet Cavalier, for an unknown reason, went from the far left lane to the far right lane and rear-ended another car.
Both cars spun out, and the Cavalier's driver side door smashed into a guardrail, killing Lewis.
The driver of the other car was not physically injured.
