Man Killed After Being Pinned Under Train At South Side Red Line Station
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Most of the CTA's Red Line trains were suspended for about two hours on the South Side Thursday night because a man was killed by a train, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 9:05 p.m. at the 87th Street Red Line station in the Chatham neighborhood, Chicago Fire Media said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to fire officials.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the death, adding that the man was in his 20s.
His identity was not immediately released.
Red Line trains resumed their normal schedule by about 11:25 p.m.
