Man Killed, 2 Women Injured In Crash On Bishop Ford Exit Ramp
DOLTON, Ill. (CBS) -- A man was killed and two women were injured early Monday in a crash on an exit ramp from the Bishop Ford Freeway.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 3 a.m. Monday on the ramp between the southbound Bishop Ford and westbound 147th Street, Illinois State Police said.
A Chevrolet Suburban was traveling along the ramp at a high speed when it rolled over, police said.
The driver -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as James J. Parson -- was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, state police said.
Parson, of the 1600 block of North Monitor Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:18 a.m. at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, according to the medical examiner's office.
Two female passengers, ages 23 and 40, were taken to area hospitals in stable condition -- one to Saint Margaret Mercy Healthcare in Indiana and the other to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
State police said alcohol was found inside the SUV.
The ramp was closed as crews investigated, but was reopened by 6:30 a.m., police said.
