Man Jumps From SUV, Chases Teen Girl On South Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are looking for a man accused of jumping out of an SUV and chasing a teenage girl Wednesday morning in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood.
It happened about 9:15 a.m. as a 13-year-old girl was walking in the 600 block of East Marquette Road, a community alert from Calumet Area detectives said.
A man in a black Cadillac Escalade pulled over, jumped out of the vehicle and quickly approached her. He chased her for a short distance, but the girl ran home and reported the incident to her mother. He drove away west on Marquette, the alert said.
The offender is described as a black man 30 to 39, clean shaven with a medium build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black T-shirt, dark jeans and black shoes. He was driving a shiny new four-door Escalade with small rims, the alert said.
Police have released a sketch of the man and anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 747-8271.
