Man Injured In House Fire
ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) - One man was injured Saturday during a house fire in northwest suburban Elgin.
Firefighters responded at 3:52 p.m. to a report of a fire at a small frame house at 625 GrandAvenue, Elgin Fire Capt. Robb Cagann said. A woman returning home called after seeing the fire and said that her fiance was in the home.
The man was found trapped in the back bedroom where the fire was found, Cagann said. Firefighters removed him from the house and he was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with first and second degree burns.
The fire was extinguished at 5:34 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
