(STMW) -- A man who's charged with driving drunk and causing a car crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway in which his young son was killed was ordered held Wednesday on $250,000 bail.
Franklin L. Jackson, 46, is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence in the crash Sunday afternoon that claimed the life of 4-year-old Franklin Leon Jackson Jr., the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
The boy, who authorities say was not belted in, was ejected from the Ford Expedition through a back window in the crash, which happened at 4:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes near 87th Street.
The 4-year-old, who lived in League City, Texas, died of head trauma, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Four other passengers in the sport-utility vehicle weren't injured — a 1-year-old boy; a 2-year-old boy; a 3-month-old girl and a 23-year-old woman believed to be the children's mother.
