Man Held For Sex Assault, Kidnapping
CHICAGO (STMW) - Sexual assault and kidnapping charges have been brought against a man accused of forcing a woman into his vehicle at gunpoint and attacking her in August, 2010, on the South Side.
Jamaal Charles, 24, was positively identified by the victim in a photo array as the person who allegedly forced her at gunpoint into his vehicle, where she was sexually assaulted at 7900 S. Muskegon Ave. Aug. 10, 2010, according to police.
Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois ordered Charles held on a $1 million cash bond during a Sunday hearing, according to a Cook County Criminal Court clerk. Charles is scheduled to appear in Violence Court (Br. 66) for a preliminary hearing on Monday, the clerk said.
Charles was arrested at 9605 S. Euclid Ave., and was charged Saturday night with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and kidnapping for the alleged attack, police said.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
